The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) Compliance – May 25th
After four years of preparation and debate the GDPR was finally approved by the EU Parliament on 14 April 2016. Enforcement date: 25 May 2018 – at which time those organizations in non-compliance may face heavy fines.
GDPR Key Changes
The aim of the GDPR is to protect all EU citizens from privacy and data breaches in an increasingly data-driven world. Below are some of the requirements coming into effect.
Your website users must be informed of data loss.
Right to Access
The right to request and view any data if collected.
Right to be Forgotten
The right to have collected data erased.
The right to receive personal data concerning them in a eligible form and for it to be portable.
Non compliants can be fined up to 4% of annual global turnover or €20 Million (whichever is greater).
